Do you make custom orders?
Absolutely! Custom work is a big part of what I do. If you have an idea, a specific size, a design you've been dreaming up, or a problem that needs a leather solution, let's talk about it.
Can I personalize an item?
Yes! Many pieces can be personalized with names, initials, designs, logos, colours, and other custom details.
Can you make something to fit a specific item?
Absolutely. I can create custom-sized leather cases and holders for phones, tools, measuring tapes, water bottles, Leatherman tools, and other equipment. Send me the measurements or bring me the item and we can work out the best fit.
Do you offer leather repairs?
Yes! If you have a leather item that needs some love, reach out. I may be able to repair, reinforce, replace hardware, restitch, resize, or otherwise restore it depending on the item and the damage. Send me a photo and some details and I'll let you know if it's something I can help with.
Do you make business and corporate orders?
Yes! I create custom leather merchandise for businesses, teams, employees, clients, and customers—including branded gifts, equipment cases, and other useful leather goods. I can also create a custom metal stamp of your logo for ongoing branding.
Do you make leather products for musicians?
Yes! Through my Music Meets Leather services, I create custom leather goods for musicians, including guitar accessories, pickguards, straps, cases, and other one-of-a-kind pieces.
Do you make products for pets?
Yes! I offer custom leather pet products, including collars, accessories, and poop bag belt pouches. Custom sizing and personalization are available.
Can I request a completely original design?
Definitely! You don't have to choose from an existing product. Tell me what you're imagining and we'll figure out how to bring it to life.
How much does custom work cost?
Pricing depends on the size, materials, design, personalization, hardware, and amount of work involved. Once I know what you're looking for, I can provide a quote before work begins.
How long does a custom order take?
Turnaround depends on the project and my current workload. I'll give you an estimated timeline when we discuss your order.
Do you offer leatherworking classes or workshops?
Yes! I offer hands-on leatherworking classes and workshops where you can learn the basics and create your own leather piece. Check the workshops page for upcoming opportunities.
Can I order something as a gift?
Absolutely! Custom leather goods make great gifts because they can be personalized specifically for the recipient. If you're not sure what to get, I can help you come up with an idea.
Do you ship?
Yes! Shipping options are available for orders. Shipping costs and timelines depend on the size of the order and its destination.
What if I don't see what I'm looking for?

LEATHER CARE & GENERAL QUESTIONS
What type of leather do you use?
Cow hide is my typical medium but I work with different types and weights of leather depending on the project. The right leather depends on how the item will be used, the desired look, flexibility, durability, and finish. I'll recommend the best option for your project.
Is real leather waterproof?
Leather is naturally water-resistant to varying degrees, but it isn't completely waterproof. Some finishes and treatments can improve water resistance, but prolonged exposure to water can still cause staining, drying, or changes to the leather.
What happens if my leather gets wet?
Don't panic! Gently wipe off excess water and allow it to dry naturally at room temperature. Don't use a hair dryer, heater, or other direct heat, as this can dry out and damage the leather. Once completely dry, the appropriate leather conditioner may help restore moisture.
How do I clean leather?
For most leather goods, start with a soft, slightly damp cloth to gently remove surface dirt. Avoid soaking the leather or using household cleaners unless you know they're safe for that specific type of leather. Different finishes require different care.
Can I use any leather conditioner?
Not necessarily. Different types of leather react differently to oils, conditioners, and other products. Using the wrong product can darken leather, change its finish, or leave it greasy. When in doubt, ask me before applying anything!
Why does leather sometimes change colour?
That's normal! Leather can darken or develop a richer colour over time from sunlight, handling, oils from your hands, and regular use. This natural aging process, called patina, is one of the things that makes real leather so unique.
Will leather stretch?
Some leather can stretch with use, especially softer or thinner leather. How much it stretches depends on the type and thickness of the leather and how the item is being used. I take this into account when designing and constructing custom pieces.
Can leather scratch?
Yes. Leather is a natural material and can develop scratches, marks, and other signs of use. Some lighter scratches can often be rubbed or conditioned out, while deeper marks may become part of the item's character and patina.
Why does my leather have variations or marks?
Because it's real leather! Natural grain variations, colour differences, scars, wrinkles, and other markings can occur naturally in hides. These aren't necessarily flaws—they're part of what makes each piece unique.
How do I make my leather last longer?
Keep it away from excessive moisture and heat, clean it appropriately, condition it when needed, and store it somewhere dry and away from prolonged direct sunlight. Most importantly, use it! Quality leather is meant to develop character with time.
